Each one begins in a notebook and carries a single idea toward a question I’ve been living with for a long time, the question of what people owe each other, and what institutions owe people, now that machines increasingly stand in between.

Every note will be numbered and meant to be argued with, and your replies will shape the next one. Each Note arrives with a photo of the notebook page, crossed-out words, coffee rings and all.
