Privacy Policy

This site (russwilcoxdata.com) is operated by Russ Wilcox, an independent analyst and consultant. This page explains what information is collected, how it's used, and your rights.

What we collect

When you use this site, we collect:

• Email and name when you submit the lead-magnet form, the contact form, or purchase an offering.
• Payment information when you purchase an offering. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
• Anonymized analytics: page views, referrers, general device info, and the country your IP resolves to. IP addresses are truncated before storage. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel.

How we use it

• Email and name go to Klaviyo, our email service provider, so we can send you what you signed up for and (with your consent) future updates.
• Purchase records (your name, email, what you bought, amount) are stored in our database for fulfillment and tax purposes. Retained for 7 years per US tax requirements.
• Analytics help us understand which content resonates so we write more of it. Aggregated only — no individual tracking.

Who we share with

We don't sell your data. We share only with:

• Stripe for payment processing
• Klaviyo for email delivery
• Render (or successor) as our hosting provider
• Government agencies if required by law

That's it. No advertising networks. No data brokers. No analytics platforms beyond first-party tracking.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

• Unsubscribe from emails using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
• Request your data by emailing russ@russwilcoxdata.com. We'll send a copy of everything we have within 30 days.
• Request deletion of your data by emailing the same address. We'll delete within 30 days, except for purchase records which we're legally required to retain.
• Update or correct any information by emailing the same address.

If you're in the EU/UK, you have additional rights under GDPR. Same email address handles those requests.

Cookies

We use a small number of first-party cookies for:

• CSRF protection (security)
• Session continuity if you log into the admin (only relevant if you're Russ)

We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking. We don't load third-party tracking scripts. The only third-party assets loaded are Google Fonts and YouTube (when you click into a video on the Speaking page).

Data retention

• Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe
• Purchase records: 7 years (US tax law)
• Anonymized analytics: 90 days, then aggregated and the raw rows deleted
• Contact form submissions: indefinitely, until you ask us to delete

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and email subscribers if the change is material.
